This special berry is usually remembered as ammunition from play battles at childhood . . . . Firm, dark ruby-red, thick, unique and rich is how our ancestors know it. The chokeberry has its own character and it is unlike any other berry. This syrup is made with the addition of cherry leaves in the right proportion without compromising its characteristic bitterness.
The berry itself has little sugar, a significant amount of pectin and natural acid, but a great deal of vitamin C and P, as well as vitamin A, tannin and minerals. As the chokeberry contains elements that strengthen the body, enlarge blood vessels, lower arterial blood pressure, and enrich the walls of blood vessels, it is recommended for people with high blood pressure.
It’s a great addition to home-made lemonade. Due to its intense colour, chokeberry syrup makes an excellent additive to jams, fruit puddings and other deserts to intensify the colour.
From one bottle of syrup you can prepare up to 5 litters of delicious chokeberry drink.
Contains: chokeberries, sugar, cherry leaves
The syrup has a “use by” date of 6 months, and it must be drunk within 3 months of opening. As the syrup doesn’t contain any artificial preservatives, then the bottle should be refrigerated.
